Sustainability Initiatives at The Art Show
The Art Show is committed to sustainability and is following a Sustainability Roadmap in collaboration with partners including Gensler, Henry Street Settlement, Sanford L. Smith + Associates, and AXA XL. This initiative aims to minimize environmental impact, achieving significant waste reduction and sustainable practices in 2022 and 2023, with plans for continued improvements in 2024.
Key sustainability accomplishments include:
– 2022: Successful waste reduction through digitalization, plant-based decorations, and the use of LED lighting.
– 2023: Focus on reducing food waste, utilizing compostable packaging, and expanding the Climate Impact Report (CIR) initiative, with participation from over 30 exhibitors.
To further support sustainability, The Art Show has developed an ADAA members webinar to guide galleries in creating effective climate action plans and made its first donation to a land conservation project.
