About SPARK Art Fair Vienna
In March 2024, the 3rd SPARK Art Fair in Vienna attracted 20,000 visitors, with many stands selling out on the first day. The next fair will be held from March 21 to 23, 2025, at MARX HALLE, featuring 90 galleries from five continents, exhibiing mainly ìsolo presentations. All artists are part of a diverse range of contemporary art such as painting, photography, and mixed-media displays.
The fair will also offer talks and a family day on March 23.
This year’s theme focuses on the connection between tradition, the future, and technology. Artistic directors Jan Gustav Fiedler and Walter Seidl aim to support both emerging and established artists, promoting equal opportunities with a fair layout.
Galleries like Nächst St. Stephan and Krinzinger will showcase renowned artists such as Lois Weinberger, Sanja Iveković, and Gregor Schneider, alongside emerging talent like Vera Klimentyeva and Lunita-July Dorn, setting the stage for future trends.
Digital Innovation and Engaging Interactions
SPARK Art Fair Vienna 2025 will explore fresh perspectives by seamlessly integrating art and technology. One of the highlights is the Smartphone Orchestra, a project that turns smartphones into a collective musical instrument. Participants will be invited to use their devices to contribute to this impressive piece of sound art.
Art and Transportation in Conversation with the BMW Group Vienna
Art and mobility share a common thread: the pursuit of innovation. For the second time, BMW Group Niederlassung Wien is supporting SPARK Art Fair. It will be its official Mobility Partner, highlighting the synergy between movement, design, and creativity. As part of this year’s fair, BMW Group Niederlassung Wien unveils its legendary Art Car, a dynamic intersection of engineering and contemporary art. Conceived in collaboration with pioneering artists, it pushes the limits of mobility as an artistic medium. Complementing this showcase, BMW Group Niederlassung Wien will curate exclusive events at the MAK, inviting new perspectives on the evolving relationship between innovation, design, and artistic experimentation.
Performances and talks at the Globe Theatre
In addition to the main exhibition areas, the GLOBE Theatre will host live performances, video art, and panel discussions during the event. Artists and experts from around the globe will tackle current issues in contemporary art, including the role of artificial intelligence. All talks are free, allowing a wider audience to engage with these discussions.
Family-friendly art: workshops for kids
SPARK Art Fair, in partnership with Uniqa, invites families to explore art playfully. On Sunday, children can enjoy interactive exhibits, creative workshops, and special tours. Admission is free for kids up to 14.
SPARK Vienna aims at making it affordable for families to inspire young art enthusiasts.
