Young photographer Simas Lin currently works in Vilnius, Lithuania. As he is surrounded by an industrial and emerging city he found himself greatly fascinated by lines, forms, and geometric shapes. In his series Modern Cityscapes, he got inspired by the concept that every single form or shape is part of a beautiful whole, and started from here to develop a special vision of the outside world made up of details. He wants to engage the viewer with his vision of an environment full of complexity and still minimal, in which every little component has great importance yet the final image stays very compact. This is the reason why Simas Lin chose to picture architectures, as buildings contain this duality, meaning they are filled with blocks and a variety of details and elements, still they remain very minimal and grounded. He also says that every element of a solid can be separated but still remains inherent.
His works are generally all inspired by social behaviors of citizens (mostly living in Lithuania), and all of his images have a real yet unworldly feel, hence the scenography he chooses is a set of tangible life scenes filled with hints of ethereal moods.
