Hello Pierre-Paul! When or how have you understood you wanted to become an artist?

I discovered I wanted to be an artist at around 25 years old, after traveling around the world.

Can you briefly say something about your technique and tell us what drives you to make art?

My passion for creativity drives me. The medium I chose is collage combined with digital manipulation.

What is the main feature that has changed in your works or practice throughout the years?

The use of a computer. To be able to work digitally, instead of using scissors and glue.

Which artist primarily inspires your work? And is there something else, outside visual arts, that keeps you motivated?

My big influence, in the beginning, was the surrealist artists like Dali, Magritte, and others. Everything that was surrealist, in painting but also literature, in poetry and movies. Photomontage pioneers also like John Heartfield, Max Ernst, and Jacques Prévert. Rapidly although I became inspired by a lot of things coming my way, in my surroundings, to a point that it is difficult to name anything in particular. I always carry with me a notebook in which I can write ideas for new images, titles of work, etc…

How would you like people to engage with your work?

To be surprised, which is like I feel when I create my images.
