About The Murales Project
Rome’s Piazza Venezia has been transformed into a vibrant open-air museum, enhancing its cultural and social hub role.
This initiative is part of the MURALES project, led by a consortium headed by Webuild and Vianini Lavori, in collaboration with Roma Capitale and relevant Superintendencies.
The project features six monumental art installations by internationally renowned artists displayed on the ten silos of the Metro Line C construction site. Each silo stands 10 meters high and collectively spans 640 square meters.
New artworks every four months until December 2026 will feature artists such as Elisabetta Benassi, Liliana Moro, Marinella Senatore, TOILET PAPER, and Nico Vascellari.
This rotation ensures a dynamic cultural experience for residents and visitors, reinforcing Rome’s commitment to integrating contemporary art within its urban landscape.
The MURALES project exemplifies how infrastructure development can harmoniously coexist with artistic expression, turning construction sites into platforms for cultural engagement.
This initiative beautifies the area and fosters a deeper connection between the city’s past, present, and future.
“Costellazioni di Roma” by Pietro Ruffo
The inaugural installation in December 2024, “Costellazioni di Roma” (Constellations of Rome) by Roman artist Pietro Ruffo, overlays a topographical map of imperial Rome with a celestial chart.
This fusion creates a dialogue between the city’s historical roots and cosmic aspirations, adorned with anthropomorphic figures and mythical creatures inspired by classical and Renaissance art.
Through this installation, Pietro Ruffo invites us to reflect on the union between history, art, and innovation, which has transformed the city.
