Dutch illustrators Laurens (Loulou) and Chantal (Tummie) work together since 2004 from their hometown Tilburg, the Netherlands. They began their collaboration while sharing the same apartment and noticing they each had a style that could be a possible addition to ones another. Although Loulou’s style is geometric and minimal while Tummie’s one is rich in cheerful and graceful patterns, they found out they shared a world made of similar scenes and a craving for toys and robot-like characters. Their universe is made of cheerful and colored characters that live in cities filled with machines, depicted with a simple yet thought-through style, where the many details are synthesized by the use of minimal colors.
Their portfolio of work range between design for apps, advertising campaigns, books, toys, character design for games and patterns for bags, and their list of clients is very rich in big names such as Vodafone, Mercedes-Benz, Google, and Samsung. Besides they also work on personal projects such as wooden figures (Lulous Woodshop) and a line for kids clothing apparel (Tummietown).
